Narrative editing is where I started and where I keep coming back. Currently lead editor on the feature Artificial Soul (in post-production) and Two Truths and a Lie, with earlier award-winning work on The Trinity System, Volwassen and Anyone But Me (48 Hour Film Project entries). Film school graduate, director of my own work.

Essays

I studied film twice: once as a cinematographer, once as a critic. Polina Gif is where both degrees kept going after graduation. Video essays on film, television and the industry. Researched, written, filmed and cut by me.

About

Six years ago I started cutting other people's campaigns and never stopped: BBC, Puma, Audi, Meta, Philips, bol.com. Freelance under my own studio and at the advertising agency DEPT. That work taught me speed, volume, and how to keep thirty versions of one thing consistent.

Film is the other half, and the OG one. I studied cinematography before I studied anything else, and I'm now lead editor on the feature Artificial Soul (in post), with 48 Hour Film Project awards across 3 years. In between I make video essays on Polina Gif, which is what a Film Studies degree turns into when you also own a small production studio and an edit suite.

I like all of it for the same reason: somewhere in the footage there's a version that works, and finding it never gets boring.
